JorDan!

This is Rachel and I at Gerash. Gerash is an ancient Roman city. It was amazing to see how well it has stayed together all these years. It was so hot while we were there! I think it was about 110! Rach and I were dying the entire time!

This is also at Gerash. These pillars are on the side of the Roman road. It was cool to be able to see the actual road that they used.
This little girl's name is Tamam. I met her at the Monastery at Petra. She was so cute. She a bedouin, and when she isn't in school, she helps her mom sell jewelry. I loved talking to her. She spoke perfect english! I was so impressed! Her favorite color is yellow, and she wants to be a doctor when she grows up! I wanted to take her home with me!

This is a picture in front of the Treasury at Petra! It was so incredible! It was crazy while we were walking down the canyon to get to it, because it reminded me so much of Lake Powell. The sand and the rocks are identitical to those found in southern Utah. When we came out of the little canyon, it was just like bang.. there's the treasury! It really surprised me at how huge it was.

This is inside of the canyon that we had to walk down to get to the Treasury at Petra. If you can tell, I am wearing a kafia. Everyone wears kafias here... well all of the guys.. but I decided they can be pretty cute on girls too! The different colors mean different things. A red one means that you are Jordanian, and after wearing mine, which is black and white, I learned that it means you're Palestinian. Kafias are probably one of the greatest things I have found since being here. They keep you so much cooler. I am planning on wearing one all the time when I get back!
